Pairing your car
How do I pair Tesboard with my Tesla?
Pairing adds your iPhone to the car as a Bluetooth phone key. You’ll need your car and its key card.
- Open Tesboard, tap Get started, allow the permissions, then tap Pair vehicle.
- Enter your car’s 17-character VIN. You’ll find it on the driver-side door jamb, or on the car’s touchscreen under Controls › Software.
- Sit in the car (or stand within about 3 m / 10 ft of it) with Bluetooth on, and tap Start pairing.
- When asked, tap your existing key card on the card reader on the center console to approve the new key, then tap I tapped the key card.
Pairing didn’t work. What should I check?
- Bluetooth is on, and allowed for Tesboard in iOS Settings › Tesboard.
- The VIN is exactly right (17 characters, no spaces).
- You’re inside the car or right next to it, and the car is awake (open a door or touch the screen).
- You tapped the key card on the console reader while the car was waiting for approval.
Then try again. If it still fails, email us with your iPhone model, iOS version and car model.
How do I remove Tesboard’s key from my car?
Delete the vehicle in Tesboard — this removes the pairing key and its trip history from your iPhone. You can also remove the phone key in the car itself under its Locks settings.
Try it without a car
Can I try Tesboard without a Tesla?
Yes. After the welcome steps, on the No vehicle paired screen, tap Try the demo. A simulated car drives in a loop so you can explore every screen — speed, gear, battery, climate, tires, media and navigation. An orange DEMO badge is always visible.
To leave, tap the DEMO badge or go to Settings › Exit Demo. Demo data is never saved to your trip history.
Supported cars
Which Teslas work with Tesboard?
Tesboard is designed for Tesla vehicles that support Bluetooth phone keys and Tesla’s vehicle-command protocol: Model 3, Model Y, and newer Model S and Model X (2021 and later). Older Model S and Model X are not supported.
Which values are available can depend on the car’s software version, configuration and region, and Tesla may change its software at any time — so we can’t guarantee every reading on every car. Try the demo first, and contact us if something is missing on yours.
Do I need the internet or a Tesla account?
No account of any kind is needed. The car connection uses Bluetooth only, so the dashboard works offline. Map tiles, directions, place names and album artwork need an internet connection.
Does it work on iPad?
Tesboard is built for iPhone and needs iOS 17 or later.
While driving
Why does the speed sometimes say it comes from GPS?
If the car’s data is briefly delayed while you’re moving — for example when the Bluetooth link is busy or drops for a moment — Tesboard shows your speed from the iPhone’s GPS instead of freezing on an old value, and marks it as GPS speed. It switches back to the car’s own data as soon as it’s live again.
This needs location access. Only the speed is filled in this way; gear, power and battery always come from the car.
How accurate are consumption and range?
They are estimates that Tesboard calculates on your iPhone from the car’s data, and they get better as it learns from your trips. They can differ from what your car shows — for important decisions, such as whether you can reach a charger, rely on your car’s own display.
Tesboard is for quick glances only. Mount your iPhone securely, set it up before you drive, keep your eyes on the road and always obey local traffic laws. Don’t interact with the app while driving.
Purchases & subscriptions
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open any Premium feature to bring up the purchase screen, and tap Restore purchases. Your Premium access comes back without paying again.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, choose Tesboard and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period; you keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Does Premium work with Family Sharing?
Yes. If you use Apple Family Sharing and purchase sharing is on, members of your family group can use Tesboard Premium on their own iPhones — they just open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchases.
How do I get a refund?
All payments are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too — we can’t issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID and choose the Tesboard purchase.
Privacy
Tesboard has no accounts, ads or tracking, sends only anonymous usage statistics that you can turn off in Settings › About, and keeps your vehicle data and trips on your iPhone. Read the full Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
